In 2008 following my 6th admission to an inpatient unit I entered the Mental Health workforce. I have worked in varying positions within the DHB in both consumer and non-consumer roles – Mental health evalutator, Consumer/SPEC educator, Consumer Advisor – Strategic Development, Quality Auditor and project manager in the funding and planning area. I left in 2014 to set up my own consultancy business Take Notice Ltd in 2014.
After representing the Tamaki Makaurau region in Te Kete Pounamu for two years, I joined Te Rau Matatini as the Kaiwhakahaere for Te Kete Pounamu in January 2018. Te Kete Pounamu is the National Maori voice for people with lived experience of mental distress and/or addictions.
