On the 9th & 10th August 2018, Te Rau Matatini hosted Māori/Iwi Leaders from across New Zealand with the Government Mental Health and Addiction Inquiry Panel. The two-day forum was rich beyond description, with real stories from Māori/Iwi communities and providers; of evidence-based solutions, recommendations and strategies to the current mental health and addiction issues. A repetitive message to the Crown was that Māori can lead and determine the solutions to improve Māori health and to achieve equity, otherwise nothing will move forward! A resource from the two-day Hui Māori called Turuki Turuki! Paneke Paneke! provides a snapshot of the kōrero.
