Suicide Prevention Informed By Mātauranga Māori

From January to June 2018, Te Rau Matatini is delivering eight Te Ihi Ora wānanga.  These free wānanga promote oranga Māori and protective factors to prevent suicide.  Te Ihi Ora wānanga are informed by and guided by mātauranga Māori, as well as kaumātua and kuia kōrero.  Facilitated by Ronald Baker (Ngāti Porou, Te Aitanga a Hauiti, Ngai Tamanuhiri, Rongomaiwahine) and Koromiko Richards (Ngāti Whatua, Hauraki), these wānanga are led by a team with experience in suicide prevention, mental health and addiction treatment with Māori.  To learn more about the wānanga click on the registration links below.  Spaces are filling up fast, so make sure to register today.  Basic level of te reo Māori literacy will be helpful.
