Whanaungatanga Hui for the Māori mental health and addiction sector aim to contribute to kotahitanga, whanaungatanga, enhanced professional identity, and access to workforce development initiatives whilst eliciting promising practices. Over the months, Te Rau Matatini have been meeting with the Maori mental health & addiction sector in Tamaki Makaurau, Te Taitokerau, Ōtautahi and Kirikiriroa.
Some of the highlights and challenges that have emerged are:
- Stunning work across Māori communities
- The continual drive to make a difference by the sector for whānau
- At the same time, there is great pressure in communities with increasing workloads, and needs in communities
