Congratulations Papa Rocky

Te Rau Matatini is proud to share that Ronald ‘Rocky’ Hudson (Ngāti Ruanui, Ngaruahine and Whakatōhea), fondly known as Papa Rocky, is one of this year’s Te Tohu ā Tā Kingi Ihaka award recipients.  This award was presented at the Te Waka Toi Māori Art Awards which recognises excellence and achievement across all art forms.  The Te Tohu ā Tā Kingi Ihaka award recognises lifetime contribution to Māori arts and culture.  Papa Rocky has worked tirelessly at both an iwi and national level, across many disciplines including health. Given Papa Rocky’s long association with Te Rau Matatini as a Kaumatua, a past member of the board of trustees, and a past member of the board of directors, we are delighted to congratulate him on this significant achievement.  Ngā mihi nui e te rangatira
